Subcision
It is a revolutionary and unique treatment, as there is no other way to eliminate orange peel skin completely.
It can also help in the treatment of acne and depressed scars.
What is the subcision?
Subcision is a procedure that tries to cut or detach some hardening that are formed in the skin by cellulite or acne scars, is performed under local anesthesia. A scalpel-shaped needle is used to break the collagen fibers or depressions, allowing a neoformation to occur, achieving the expansion and elevation of the tissue.
Cellulite causes an accumulation of fat, water and toxins in the cells, causing them to swell and harden, giving the skin an "orange peel" appearance, showing irregularities and unevenness.
On the other hand, acne is a disease that mainly affects the face and, like scars, usually has fibrous tracts that, like an anchor, pull down the skin, causing it to take an irregular downward shape. These fibrous tracts are often so depressed that other acne treatments are useless. For this reason, the application of subcision for acne scars becomes necessary, with the purpose of breaking the fibrous tracts and "releasing" the skin from that anchor.
How does the treatment work?
After a medical evaluation, local anesthesia is applied, we proceed to the puncture with a scalpel-shaped needle and begin to break the fibrous tissue of the depression (cellulite, scar or acne) with cutting fan movements. This will achieve the de-anchoring of the collagen-rich fibrous tissue. This procedure will form a little more scar, lifting the tissue and smoothing the area.
The treatment is painless and should be done in zones if there are large areas to be treated. This procedure can take from 30 minutes to 1 hour.
In what areas is it applied?
It can be applied on areas such as the buttocks or legs. It can also be applied on the face, when the acne has left deep marks, so you want to level the skin. It is worth mentioning that this procedure does not leave scars.
How many sessions are required?
For acne treatment, only one session may be necessary to treat the most severe depressions. However, if the area is very extensive, consider dividing the procedure into monthly sessions. Meanwhile, for large areas such as the buttocks or legs, more than one session will be needed. Hence the importance of medical evaluation before the procedure.
What are your results?
A recovery effect can be observed between 7 and 14 days. The benefit of subcision is permanent, as the fibrous tracts do not re-form and the treatment does not need to be repeated. It does not require hospitalization, does not require disability.
What are the side effects?
Because the fibrous tissues are being cut for additional healing, there may be swelling, bruising and mild pain.
